Lake Cargelligo, a picturesque oasis on Wiradjuri country in the Lachlan Shire, is hosting the Festival of the Lakes 2023 over the upcoming NSW Long Weekend. Being held over Saturday 30th September and Sunday 1st October the Festival is certainly creating a buzz throughout the community.
The name of the Festival is a nod to the past, when this tiny town drew thousands of visitors annually.
The festival is a celebration of place, for those who have ived here for Millenia. for generations or just for a year or so.
“we want to celebrate where Lake Cargelligo is now in 2023, and are really looking forward to showcasing and celebrating our beautiful Lake and melting pot of cultures that make up our community”.
Festival organisers are hoping that the modern version will uplift and rejuvenate the community after what has been a trying period of years with both the Covid lockdowns, bushfires and more recently catastrophic flooding.
